Well HELLO THERE!!
Thank you SOO much for stopping by my blog!! I'd love it if you'd leave me some comments and let me know what you think of my stuff! Oh yeah, and don't forget to subscribe!!!
Happy Hooking :)
Soooooooooo, for Christmas, my AMAZING boyfriend got me a new digital camera, but not just ANY digital camera a Canon Rebel T1i (which is a digital SLR camera). For any of you who may not understand the FABULOUSNESS of this gift, then you have never taken a picture with a digital SLR camera before…. EVERY picture comes out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Even in low-light or places I can’t use flash, the pics come out SOOOOOOOOOO much better then with my previous snap-n-shoot digicam(which was standard, nothing special). This is an incredible “step up” in the world of cameras for me!! Now that I know what a “REAL” camera is capable of, I don’t think I could EVER go back to using little digicams with their fuzzy, badly exposed pictures…BLAAH!! YAAY!! I LOVE MY NEW CAMERA!! lol
Well, I suppose that is all the ranting and raving I will do about my new toy, but I just HAD to share my excitement with all of you. Hopefully you’ll be able to scoop one up soon (if you haven’t already)!! You will NOT regret it!
OK, Enough about my camera, this blog is supposed to be about my crocheting!!Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to post any projects today….
What I WILL do is post a few pics I took with my new Rebel Camera!!
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE yarn!! I’ve seemed to become completely INFATUATED with it for the past year or so… Let’s just say, if there was a Yarn-a-holics Annonymous, I’d probably be the spokes model!
Could you even imagine??
BUT I CAN’T be the ONLY person who feels this way about these beautiful fibers, spun for my enjoyment! Sooooooooooo,
TO ALL MY FELLOW YARN-A-HOLICS:
I suppose you could call it a little “Yarn Porn” ENJOY
I hope you don’t find this offensive!!
I really don’t mean to be crude…
But
There is DEFINITELY a “Yarn Orgy” going on in that bag right now!!
Is it just me?? Or am I crazy??
I suppose I AM being a bit crazy, but we all have our days…
Well, that’s it for today folks!!
I hope you’ll forgive me for my non-crochet related blog entry today.
I promise I’ll be back to post one of my newly completed crochet projects soon!!
As always, Thanks for stopping by… ♥
Ok people.. I promised to post pics of the girl monkey that I’ve been making for lil Violette,
and heeeeeeere they are:
I know, I know, I got a bit carried away…
but I just couldn’t help myself!!
Silly Monkey!! Where did you’re dress go??!
ok ok… I know…. I’m sorry…. I’ll stop now….
but how could any person in their right mind not find the following picture absolutely ADOOOOOORABLE!!!
Ok, did it make you smile?? Even a little???
I’d LOVE if you’d leave some comments and let me know what you think!!
And please check out the other Monkeys that I’ve completed!!

.
Today is the last day of 2009 -New Years Eve!!
It’s a blizzard here in Maine, so I figured I would post a blog….
This beautiful crocheted Cloche and Scarf set is just want I need on a snowy day like today! I decided to use a deep red acrylic yarn from my stash – nothing special – but it came out GREAT!!
To make the cloche, I doubled up my yarn so the hat would be thicker. Doing so gave the brim more stability and helped it keep it’s shape really well!!
The pattern is FREE and can be found HERE on Crochettoday.com.
And now for the scarf……
I have made quite a few of these triangular scarves. It is a terrific pattern -Sweet November Scarf/Shawl- available for FREE from AprilDraven.
Check out my Doggies Scarves to see some other scarfs I’ve made using this pattern!
(another 4 scarves done and not yet posted)
OK, Well I think that will do me for today!!
I hope you all have an EXTRAORDINARY New Years!!
♥ May all your dreams come true in 2010!!! ♥
Much LOVE and Happy Crocheting!!!
It’s Christmas Eve, so this post will be short and sweet!!!
These stockings are for my doggies!! The pattern can be found by clicking here on the Lion Brand website. ALL of Lion Brands patterns are now available for FREE!!! You will have to register with lion brand, but you should just go ahead and do it. It’s not a big deal, and it’s completely FREE!! So make sure to go check out their wide selection of patterns…
I also used this pattern to make stockings for my boyfriend and I….
and heeeeeeeere they are:
As you can see I chose a different color scheme, but I like it!! I also used some gold garland-ish yarn along the cuffs edge to make it a bit more festive…
Well I think that’s it for today. I want to wish you all have a very Merry Christmas and, as always, thanks for checking out my blog!!!
I’m not feeling very chatty today, so this blog post may not be very lengthy….
Here goes:
It’s SOOO cold outside, so it seemed like an appropriate time to post some earflap hats. I made this hat for my brothers fiance as a wedding gift. I used bulky boulce yarn and it came out very soft and cozy. The ribbing makes the hat very thick, which makes it soooo warm!
I found this Craftster post, which contains general instructions for the pattern.
This was also my very first attempt at a Pom-Pom, and I must say, it’s alot easier than you would think! Just a little precision and patients and you’ll end up with a nearly perfect pom.
Click here to learn how to make your very own pom pom.
Once you make one, you won’t be able to stop!!
Here’s another Earflap Hat I just finished up for a friends daughter.
Thanks so much for checking out these hats! If you are interested in your own, let me know!!
Have a great weekend!
I’ve decided that my next post MUST be of the wonderful monkeys that I have been making lately! The original pattern was written by ChimuChimu and can be found at: http://quesera.ojaru.jp/osaru-pattern.html
My first attempt at the monkey!!
Made for a baby of a friend of mine….
I really enjoyed making this monkey…The pattern is pretty easy to follow. I chose stitches for the eyes, because it’s for a newborn. The dress was improvised and once she had a dress, I realized that she needed a bow, too! She’s such a pretty little lady, it’s hard not to love her…
My only issue with amigurumi is that once I’ve made all of the pieces, I then need to find the patience to put them all together! With this monkey, that took me a while
It’s done, and that’s what counts!!!
My second attempt!!!!
I think I’m getting the hang of this… For some reason, to me, this monkey has SUCH a cuter face then the first one!! I still chose to use thread for the eyes(this one is also for a friends newborn), but this time I crocheted tiny little circles using black sewing thread, and they came out PERFECT!! Once I finished embroidering his facial features, I was in love…
He’s just so darn sweet….Isn’t he???
The baby blue yarn was a last minute decision, but I’m happy I chose it!! It will be PERFECT for their baby boy on the way!!
And I think we’ve named him Neil!!
Here’s Neil being a silly little monkey!!
Ok, maybe I was the one being a little silly.. But once I started taking pictures of this cute little guy, I just couldn’t stop!!
Anyway, I still have one more monkey-in-progress and I’ll make sure to post pics of her once she’s all done…
For any of you who have not yet made your own stuffed animal,
I strongly suggest that you do so, as soon as you can find the time, and patiences….
It will be WELL worth it!!!!!
As always, Thanks for peeking!! ♥

Cable Beanie
When I came across this pattern for a crocheted cable hat, it looked so much like knit that I just HAD to make one! The cabling can be a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing! Now I want to add cables to EVERYTHING!!
I think I’ve made three of these hats at this point, but I only have pictures of two of them. I gave the first one I made to my boyfriends’ mother and didn’t take any pictures of it, so it won’t be posted on the blog. The first hat pictured was made for my brother, as a wedding gift. I kept the colors pretty simple, but that’s how he wanted it.

Cable Beanie
The second hat pictured, I made a while back, for my boyfriend. I kinda can’t believe how quickly I finished up this hat. It was done in no time! It came out great using regular old acrylic worsted weight yarn.
And I kept it black, so he’d wear it…
Many thanks to Rheatheylia for posting this free pattern!!
You can find this pattern and others @ Rheatheylia.com
Give it a try!! It’s such a quick and easy pattern,
and hopefully you will love it as much as I do!!

Dog Scarves
Here are some scarves I just finished up for our beloved doggies. It’s hunting season in Maine, and I figured the dogs needed something bright to wear on our walks. I just so happened to already have some bright orange yarn in my stash, and I couldn’t think of anything better to make with it!

Dog Scarf-Closeup
Here’s a close-up picture of the buttons I used for the scarves. Cute little star buttons. They give the scarves a bit more character….

Mama's Scarf
I love how these scarves came out! They look so cute on the doggies!! Hopefully now the dogs will feel a bit safer and warmer during our walks.

Loco's Scarf
The scarves work up really quickly. If you are interested in making your own triangular scarves visit www.aprildraven.blogspot.com and check out her pattern for the “Sweet November Scarf/Shawl”. One of my new favorite patterns! Thank You April for sharing!!
Have a great day!!!

- Lily’s First Birthday Present
I can not help but LOVE this adorable hat and scarf set! I made it 2 months ago for a friends’ daughters’ first birthday present and I’m just now getting around to posting it. Better late then never, I guess…
I didn’t use a pattern, just a whole lot of love…

Girls Cloche w/Flower
This cloche was very easy to make! It is basically just a simple beanie with a shelled border. I added the flower to make the hat “girlier” and white to the flower to make it POP!
How can you not LOVE this sweet little hat??

Girls Scarf w/Flower
The scarf came out cute too and it was also super easy to make! I think it’s amazing that adding a shelled border to something, can transform it from dull to dainty! And the flowers made all the difference in the world…
I think I want one now…

Decorative Flower
Last, but not least, here is the cute little flower bow!! Isn’t it adorable? It looked so cute on the gift bag too! The hanging strings are pretty long, so it can be used as a headband or belt or something, if you wanted. I didn’t really plan on making this flower, it just kinda happened…. But I’m happy it happened, because I think it really brought the gift together!
Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of Lily wearing her gifts, but I’m going try to make a strong effort to take GOOD pictures of everything I’ve finished from now on! I have alot more projects to post, so hopefully I get the hang of this “blogging stuff” soon!!!
Thanks for looking!
~Stephanie
